About

Ddd Hotel

Ddd Hotel is a 3-star stay in Tokyo's Chuo Ward, a part of the city guests often find calmer than the western wards or Ueno. Rooms are recently refurbished, with modern decor, air conditioning, and balconies on many. The hotel keeps a 24-hour reception and a shared lounge, plus a restaurant and bar for when you'd rather stay in.

You're minutes on foot from Asakusabashi JR station and the Bakurocho subway exit, so getting around is straightforward. The neighborhood has convenient eateries and 24-hour markets close by, and sights like the Edo-Tokyo Museum and Asakusa are within walking distance. Expect a straightforward, well-kept base rather than a luxury escape.

What works, what to weigh

Strengths

4 reasons to book
  • Excellent staff — Guests consistently mention friendly, helpful, and welcoming reception staff who go out of their way to assist with directions and local tips.
  • Great location — A short walk to both Asakusabashi JR and Bakurocho subway stations, with easy access to Akihabara and the rest of Tokyo. Calmer than western wards, yet close to eateries and 24-hour markets.
  • Clean, modern rooms — Recently refurbished rooms with contemporary decor, air conditioning, balconies on many, and spotless housekeeping with fresh towels daily.
  • Good value — Reasonable price for the location and quality, with guests noting it's better than expected for the class.

Worth weighing

4 to weigh
  • Compact rooms — Some rooms are described as shallow or tight, common for city hotels. They're still well-equipped and comfortable, but don't expect spacious quarters.
  • No pets allowed — If you're traveling with an animal, this isn't the place—the hotel has a strict no-pets policy.
  • Limited check-in window — Check-in is only from 15:00 to 23:00. If you arrive after 11 PM, you'll need to make alternative arrangements.
  • Potential for high rates — One guest mentioned a price of £5444 for a double room, which seems steep—perhaps due to peak season or a last-minute booking. Consider booking early for better rates.

“I was pleasantly surprised by the quality. Better than expected. The room is shallow, but has everything you need and is comfortable. The staff are really nice and 150% helpful—ask them for directions or tour tips. The location is excellent, just steps from the C4 exit of Bakurocho station and about a 3-minute walk from Asakusabashi JR. I even walked to the Emperor's Palace in about 40 minutes. Next time in Tokyo, I'll stay here.”
